Nés des tentatives de déchiffrement du visible, les réseaux de neurones artificiels entretiennent un rapport étroit avec la photographie. À la fois synthèse et invention, ces images possèdent une texture photographique tout en ayant une structure très particulière, des nébuleuses de formes, provenance des milliers de photographies ayant servies de modèles.

La Méthode des Lieux est bâtie par des clichés de temples, de cathédrales ou encore de palais. Ces architectures du passé, parfois ruines conservées uniquement grâce aux archives photographiques constituent un socle historique sculpté par le temps. La photographie artificielle se propose de prospecter une cartographie d’architectures et d’espaces utopiques en évoluant dans des lieux sans précédent car en dehors de l’entendement humain.

Born from the attempts to decipher the visible, artificial neural networks entertain a close relation to photography. Synthesis and invention at the same time, these images have a photographic texture as well as a very peculiar structure, nebulae of forms, coming from the thousands of images that were used to train the artificial intelligence.

La Méthode des Lieux (The Method of Loci) is built on photographies of various archaic architectures such as of temples, cathedrals, or palaces. These architectures of the past, sometimes ruins only preserved trough photography, constitute an historic foundation built by time. The artificial photography is used to prospect a cartography of utopian spaces and architectures, by evolving in unprecedented places, outside of human understanding.
